Tom Hanson ArtThe Artist
From early childhood, surrounded by the brushes and paints in his father's sign shop, Tom Hanson knew he wanted to be an artist.

It was there that he first encountered the unique chord that art strikes with each individual, and learned a deep-seated responsibility to quality execution that must be applied to the creative process at any level.

During my childhood, when I saw the studio of cowboy artist Charlie Russell,
I dreamed of being an artist from that point on.

His first opportunity to earn a living from his skills with paint and canvas took him to the movie lots of Hollywood, where he worked as a scenic artist. There he was encouraged to promote his artwork in the urban marketplace of Los Angeles. Selling his work virtually door-to-door on Wilshire Boulevard, Tom soon discovered that he could fill a need for art in corporate settings. This was to become his true calling, utilizing his aesthetic training and his understanding of the relationship between interior spaces and the needs of the people who occupy them.

With a solid list of corporate clients and a growing portfolio, Tom was able to turn to painting full time, and eventually move back to his roots in Montana.

Tom has enjoyed a successful career for over twenty five years, specializing in commissioned art for corporate clients. His work has brought color, life and personality to factory spaces of massive scale or enhanced an atmosphere of quiet contemplation in the intimate environs of a cozy cafe. Tom's work has lined the walls of every type of human space from three story lobbies, to mountain retreats, from hotel rooms to health clinics, from offices to factory floors.

"To have broad appeal, your work must be multi-dimensional: some will like the representational landscapes or industrial imagery, others respond to the abstract, non-objective work or the collages."

Tom's signature style offers up a clarity of detail for the interior space and an insightful ability to capture the character of a place or organization. Tom Hanson credits his years of experience with corporate accounts for his successful collaboration with interior designers, using his art to enhance their vision for business and industrial spaces.

"By inviting the client into the process, you create a bond that leads to success--revealing the identity of where they are and what they do. The art becomes something they can love, because they see themselves in it."
